Cleaning process and scope for horizontal split units
For a concealed split-type unit, first identify it by the actual model label on the unit body and the service location. Cleaning arrangements focus on accessible parts, the fan wheel, heat exchange and drainage; do not assume the same model just because it is concealed in the ceiling.
OVERVIEW
Overview
Horizontal split unit AC cleaning, fault inspection, repair, and installation arrangements. The unit must first be identified by its body and model; it should not be treated as a ducted unit just because it is hidden in the ceiling. See the applicable cleaning process, current pricing, inspection fee, and the boundary between repair and installation.
KEY CHECKS
Key preparation points before arranging
Main cleaning scope
Dismantle the casing that can be handled according to the equipment, clean the dust filter, fan wheel and heat exchange parts, check and clear the drainage, then reassemble the accessories and test operation.
Preparation before enquiry
Provide full exterior shots of the unit, the label, service access, and the condensate drainage point. If fixed fittings block access, state the parts that can be opened and whether management coordination is needed. The model label is the sticker showing the brand, model, and unit number. If you cannot find it, send a photo of the whole AC unit first; do not dismantle it yourself.
Keep basic cleaning and extra work separate
Concealed ceiling is an installation form and is not enough to distinguish between a slim split unit, ducted unit or other equipment. Before the model is confirmed, we do not apply another type of unit's methods or pricing directly.
Test run and fault handling
Check the unit’s operation before and after cleaning; if any pre-existing fault or extra work is found, explain it to the customer and quote first. Cleaning does not guarantee to solve all cooling, dripping or electrical problems.
CLEANING PROCESS
Floor/ceiling split unit
Clean the dust filter, blower wheel and heat exchange parts of the unit, and clear the drain pipe.
- Inspect the unit condition: check the operation and equipment condition, and assess the cleaning arrangement.
- Protect the surrounding area: Protect areas that may come into contact with it.
- Safe power-off: the technician will switch off the power and handle any required wiring.
- Cleaning the dust filter: open the casing, remove the dust filter, and clean, rinse and dry it with a dedicated cleaner.
- Cleaning the blower wheel: remove dust along the direction of the fan wheel, treat the dirt and rinse it off to avoid damaging the fan wheel.
- Clean the heat exchange components: remove dust and dirt to protect the heat exchange fins.
- Clear the drain pipe: check the drainage and use the Worx water extractor to unblock it as needed.
- Assembly and testing: Refit the dust filter and casing, restore power, and check operation and cooling.
Notes
- Below is the indoor unit cleaning process; the basic charge does not include the outdoor heat exchanger.
- Before work starts, the access panel, ceiling and components must be assessed for accessibility. Unit cleaning does not include full ductwork, cooling tower or water system works.
CLEANING FIRST
AC Cleaning Scope and Work Arrangement
A horizontal split unit must first be identified by its body and model; it should not be treated as a ducted unit just because it is hidden in the ceiling. Cleaning is carried out according to the actual removable parts, including the dust filter, blower wheel, evaporator coil, and drainage, after confirming the water-collection point and whether renovations are blocking access.
Inspect first, then clean, and finally test the unit
- First record the condition of the unit, confirm the installation location, removable parts and scope of work, and protect furniture, goods and electronic devices under the unit
- Dismantle and clean the applicable parts according to the actual model and safety conditions, handle dirt build-up, water collection and drainage, and do not treat repairs as included in washing the unit
- After reassembling the parts, test run, check drainage and tidy the site; if there is any pre-existing fault or extra work, it will be explained and quoted first

Cleaning maintenance and pricing90-day cleaning maintenance is subject to the terms; pricing is based on model type and number of units
The cleaning service includes a 90-day warranty for problems caused by the cleaning service; dripping and leakage cases must first have the cause verified and the applicable terms confirmed at booking, and not all cases qualify for free repair.
The following are for reference by equipment type only, and do not mean the same brand or venue must use all of the above models. Basic cleaning is priced by model and unit count; outdoor condensers, steam add-ons, special locations and extra work are subject to eligibility checks, and no brand-specific or industry-standard price is created.

FAULT INSPECTIONAir Conditioner Inspection: Identify the Problem FirstIf no repair is carried out, a fixed HK$500 inspection/attendance fee applies; it can be waived from the repair fee if you proceed with the repair.
Please provide photos of the unit, service access, model and air outlet, and state where the abnormal noise, dripping or weak airflow occurs. If the equipment is hard to access, confirm the safe inspection method first; customers are not asked to remove the ceiling or reach into the unit to test parts.
Inspection fee and safety reminder
After the technician visits for an inspection, if the customer does not proceed with the repair or does not accept the repair quotation, a fixed HK$500 inspection/attendance fee will be charged; this is a single charge and is not split into two separate charges.
If you notice a burning smell, smoke, repeated tripping, or water near electrical parts, stop using the equipment first. Do not keep restarting it or dismantle it yourself.
REPAIRAir conditioning repair: confirm the quotation first, then proceedProceed only after the quotation is confirmed; our repair service does not include warranty
After confirming the actual model and removable areas, repair and parts charges will be quoted based on the fault. Built-in fixtures, narrow access, or work that requires other trades will be confirmed separately; do not directly apply parts or methods for another concealed-ceiling AC model.
Keep costs and maintenance separate
If you agree to proceed with repairs, HK$500 can be deducted from the repair fee; please check the deduction and amount payable when confirming the quotation.
Our repair service does not include a warranty, including repair parts and workmanship. Please understand the repair scope and fees before accepting the quotation.
Repair parts must be checked against model and supply. We do not guarantee that parts are available for all models or that same-day repair is possible. We will not treat refrigerant top-up as necessary before the cause is confirmed.
INSTALLATIONAC installation and replacementGeneral installation includes a one-year warranty, separate from the manufacturer's warranty; new power supply wiring and extra works quoted separately
When replacing a horizontal split unit, the body size, air outlet, and maintenance space must first be measured, and the support, copper piping, drainage, and indoor/outdoor matching must be checked. Equipment enclosed by renovations does not mean it can be replaced in place; the scope of dismantling, modification, and reinstatement must be confirmed before quoting.
Quote separately for work beyond the basic scope
Pulling a new power supply from the main switch to the unit is not included; please provide the existing power supply location for the technician to assess and quote separately.
First confirm old unit removal, transport, copper pipes (the copper tubes through which the refrigerant flows), drain pipes, fixing and any extra work needed. General installation warranty and the manufacturer's product warranty are separate. Please see the installation service page for the full scope; special systems are not directly subject to general replacement terms.

QUESTIONS
Frequently asked questions
Is concealed-ceiling air conditioning definitely a slim split unit?
Not necessarily. Please provide photos of the actual unit, label and service access location first so the equipment can be identified. Ducted and other types cannot be treated as the same model just because of the installation location.
How is horizontal split unit AC cleaning priced?
Please refer to the relevant residential or commercial air-conditioning cleaning price list and confirm based on the actual model, quantity and working conditions. Special locations, additional parts or extra work cannot be priced by model name alone.
If there is a burning smell or repeated tripping, can cleaning be arranged first?
First stop using the AC. Do not restart it repeatedly or disassemble it yourself. Describe the abnormal symptoms and first confirm safety and whether fault inspection is needed. Cleaning cannot replace handling electrical or mechanical problems.
Are the inspection fee and the call-out fee charged twice?
After the technician visits for an inspection, if the customer does not proceed with the repair or does not accept the repair quotation, a fixed HK$500 inspection/attendance fee will be charged; this is a single charge and is not split into two separate charges. If repair is approved, HK$500 can be deducted from the repair cost; please confirm the deduction and the amount payable when confirming the quotation. Inspection does not include cleaning, parts or repair, and related work will only be arranged after the quotation is confirmed.
Is the warranty the same for repairs and installations?
Our repair service does not include a warranty, including repair parts and workmanship. Please understand the repair scope and fees before accepting the quotation. We provide a one-year installation warranty, covering brackets and leaks caused by glass sealing or sealant. For split units, it also covers refrigerant leakage caused by poor refrigerant-pipe connection; not all water leaks or refrigerant leaks are covered by installation warranty. The two services must not be mixed up; for the full scope and exclusions, please see the repair and installation service pages, and special systems must be confirmed separately.
