AC TOOL

AC electricity cost estimate

Calculate daily and selected-period electricity use and cost based on AC input power, hours of use, and the electricity rate entered by the user.

Power use = input power W ÷ 1,000 × hours used; cost = power use kWh × electricity rate per unit. Inverter load varies, so rated power conditions do not equal the actual electricity bill.

Enter information

No name or phone number is required. After changing any information, please recalculate

Please check the 'input power / power consumption' on the unit or in the manual, not the cooling capacity

Please enter your own electricity tariff based on your bill. This tool does not preset electricity prices

Just enter numbers, for example 50 = 50%; leave blank for 100%

Calculation method

  1. Daily power consumption (kWh) = input power (W) ÷ 1,000 × daily usage hours × average load ratio.
  2. Electricity cost during the period (HKD) = Daily power use (kWh) × Number of days used × Unit electricity rate (HKD/kWh).
  3. Average load ratio = input percentage ÷ 100, for example 100% calculated with 1, and 50% calculated with 0.5.
  4. Please fill in the electricity rate according to your own bill or your power company’s information. The tool does not have a preset current CLP/HEC unit rate, and it does not separately calculate fuel adjustment, rebates or other bill items.
  5. 100% represents a comparison scenario in which input power is maintained throughout the period, not a real load forecast for an inverter unit; if you adjust the ratio yourself, the result only reflects that assumption.
  6. Annual electricity consumption on the energy label is based on a specific test standard and cannot be treated as the actual annual usage of every household.

Frequently asked questions

If the unit body says 2.5kW, can it be entered directly as 2500W?
First confirm whether it refers to input power or cooling capacity. Cooling capacity does not mean power consumption; please use the input power shown on the specification sheet or reliable actual power-use data.
Why is the estimate different from the electricity bill?
Actual load, weather, set temperature, usage habits and the tariff structure on the bill will all affect the result. This tool only compares the power, hours and unit price scenarios you enter.
