What to note before AC cleaning: power supply, protection and service scope
Contents
Before AC cleaning, the most important things are to report any existing problems, confirm which parts will be cleaned, and check whether the site is suitable for the work. Routine maintenance by residents is limited to parts permitted by the manufacturer; a general guide must not be treated as an instruction that every air conditioner can be dismantled and washed.
First provide the model and original issues
Provide photos of the model, the unit and the installation location, and note whether dripping, poor cooling, unusual noise, icing or tripping has already appeared. Do not remove the unit or lean out to check the exterior wall just for photos; if there are electrical issues or obvious abnormal operation, first confirm whether an inspection is needed instead of immediate cleaning.
Clear a safe working area
Confirm with the service provider how items under the unit, furniture and walkways should be moved or protected, and specify the locations of water supply, power supply and wastewater handling. Fixed electrical installations, wiring and unknown switches should not be dismantled or altered by residents themselves; the service provider should arrange suitable shutdown and protection measures according to the model and site conditions.
Clarify the indoor and outdoor scope
The quote sets out the actual work for the filter, evaporator, impeller and drain/outflow sections. Whether the outdoor unit, extra clearance work or parts are charged separately must also be confirmed. Not every unit needs to be fully dismantled, and not every location can be safely accessed or washed.
Cleaning Supplies and Internal Disassembly Cleaning
Residents should not spray store-bought foam, bleach, scented spray or a water jet into the unit. Filters that can be washed with water should also be handled according to the manufacturer's method. Internal dirt and material condition will be assessed by service staff; do not treat words like "neutral" or "special-purpose" as a guarantee that they are suitable for every material.
What records should be confirmed after completion?
Confirm the parts are reinstalled, the test run and drainage observation are done, and record any unresolved faults, extra quotations and follow-up methods. Cleaning removes dirt, but it does not promise a fixed energy-saving amount, an extra number of years of service life, or no future faults.
