Inside an air conditioner are aluminum fins, copper pipes, coatings, plastic and electrical components. Whether a cleaning agent is suitable depends on the specific product, equipment materials, concentration and procedure, not just the price, brand or the words "special purpose".
Household degreasing agents should not be assumed suitable
Being able to clean kitchen tiles or a range hood does not mean it is suitable for an AC heat exchanger and coating. Household products, including Blue Wonder, should be checked against their labels, applicable materials and original manufacturer's restrictions.
Without specific product safety data and equipment compatibility evidence, this article does not claim a fixed pH value or inevitable corrosion for any brand, nor does it guarantee that other professional chemicals will not damage the unit at all.
Material compatibility and operation are equally important
Incorrect concentration, overly long contact time, insufficient rinsing, or water entering the circuit may all create risks. Higher pressure from a water gun, steam, or chemicals is not necessarily better.
We do not provide a universal dilution ratio, soaking time, or mixing procedure for all AC units. Do not mix cleaners, and do not spray into a live unit or an unprotected interior.
What to do if an unknown cleaning agent has already been sprayed in
Stop using the equipment first and keep the product name, label and usage condition. Do not neutralise it with another chemical, and do not dismantle it yourself, flush it with water, or switch on the fan to blow away the smell.
If there is an irritating smell or you feel unwell, move away from exposure and seek medical help as needed; if there is a burning smell, smoke, a tripped breaker, or wet electrical parts, do not reconnect power and arrange an inspection.
What to look for when choosing a cleaning service
You may ask whether the materials used are suitable for the model, electrical protection, wastewater collection, rinsing and post-cleaning inspection. Cleaning results are affected by stains and the condition of parts, and we do not promise to restore the unit to new condition or kill all germs.
