Split AC piping concealment methods | Add aesthetics and function to your space

Contents

AC piping can be concealed to match the décor, but insulation, drainage slope, connection checks, and maintenance space must be kept. This is a design and installation check, not a DIY guide for residents to modify pipes or permanently seal them off.

Conceal split AC piping | Use decorative trunking

A decorative PVC trunk mainly organizes and covers the piping; it is not a duct that carries conditioned air. Size, insulation, connections and access for maintenance must be confirmed according to the actual piping, and a neat appearance alone cannot be used to assume drainage or operation is definitely normal.

Conceal split AC piping | Make clever use of furniture

Before placing furniture in front of the unit, confirm that it will not compress insulation or change the drainage position, and that the parts needing inspection remain accessible. Do not use pipework to support furniture, and do not block the air inlet or return air just to hide the pipes.

Conceal split AC piping | Build a false wall or false ceiling

False ceiling or false wall designs should reserve suitable access openings for maintenance, with insulation, drainage and connection points coordinated by the installation and renovation teams; do not seal everything up and then assume no future repairs will be needed.

Conceal split AC piping | Use artwork or fabric hangings

Pictures or decorations must not press on the pipes, insulation, or air outlet. Before drilling into a wall, confirm hidden pipes and wiring. Do not fasten decorations directly onto AC piping, and do not bend or reconnect refrigerant pipes yourself.

Conceal split AC piping | Integrate with interior design

Before installation or renovation, confirm the pipe routing, insulation, drainage, and access arrangements in advance, then choose cable trunking or other covering methods to avoid changing already connected piping later for appearance reasons.

Whether an appearance solution is suitable depends on the actual piping and maintenance needs; not all concealed methods avoid affecting the equipment. Existing water dripping or damaged insulation should be identified first, not covered up with decoration.
