Can an air-conditioning blanket be washed? Check the care label and filling first
Contents
An air-conditioning blanket, summer quilt, or light quilt is a product or usage term and does not mean that all outer fabrics, fillings, and processing methods are the same. You cannot say all of them are suitable for machine washing, nor can you decide the cleaning method based only on the names “ice silk” or “bamboo fibre”.
First distinguish between the duvet cover and the duvet inner
Removable duvet covers and the inner filling may have different care requirements. First check the care label and manufacturer information to confirm whether they can be washed, machine-washed, dry-cleaned, tumble-dried, or only spot-treated.
Different products filled with silk, down, cotton or synthetic fibres may also vary. If there is no label or it cannot be identified, please ask the supplier or laundry care service first; do not soak it to test it.
Check capacity and limits before cleaning
Only if the label allows machine washing should machine washing be considered, and the load and programme for large bedding should be checked against the washing machine instructions. Being able to fit does not mean the machine can be cleaned or spun safely.
Water temperature, detergent, bleaching and spin-drying all depend on product requirements. We do not provide a one-size-fits-all 40-degree, half-hour soak or direct sunlight method for all quilts. Do not raise the temperature or mix cleaning agents in the name of disinfection.
The drying method also needs to be checked
Dry thoroughly before storing, according to the label's permitted method; do not judge thick padding as dry just because the outer fabric feels dry. Avoid sun exposure, tumble drying or ironing if the label does not allow it.
If there is a smell, clumping of filling, discolouration, or a risk of shrinkage, do not try to fix it with hotter water or a hair dryer. Do not soak a duvet insert that is not washable and then try to iron it dry.
Bedding care is different from AC cleaning
Cleaning bedding does not directly improve AC cooling performance; AC cleaning also does not mean treating the bedding filling. The cover image is for AC usage context only, not a bedding cleaning example.
This page is for reading about routine care and does not mean our company provides any unconfirmed air conditioner cleaning service. For air conditioning or listed home items, please check the current service scope separately. We do not promise that cleaning will cure allergies or completely remove all stains.
