How Should Air Conditioner Maintenance Be Arranged? Usage Records, Dirt Build-Up and Fault Follow-Up

Contents

For AC maintenance, first check the model manual, usage time, accumulated dirt, and any abnormal records; it is not fixed at two to three cleanings per year. Separating filter maintenance, internal cleaning, and repairs makes it easier to judge which service is needed and when.

First record daily usage hours, whether there is grease smoke or renovation dust nearby, and the date of the last maintenance; the rate of buildup varies with environment and usage. If there is leaking, weak cooling or tripping, check the cause first instead of waiting for the next scheduled cleaning date.

Residents should only handle dust filters that can be safely removed and washed according to the manual. Do not remove the casing, and do not use a brush, vacuum cleaner or wet cloth to reach the fan, heat exchanger or electrical control area. Clean, dry and reinstall the filter according to the manufacturer’s method.

Keep the model, cleaning date, service scope and any abnormal notes for future follow-up. Whether the filter is cleaned or replaced depends on the model's requirements; do not treat monthly replacement or fixed servicing as necessary for all air conditioners.

Use cooling, timer, or dry functions as needed and according to the manual. Do not assume the unit will be damaged just because it runs at maximum power for a period, and do not equate blowing air directly with catching a cold. Long-term shutdown and restart should follow the manufacturer’s advice.

Maintenance records help compare changes in airflow, odour and faults, but routine cleaning alone cannot guarantee the best performance or extend service life. If problems remain after cleaning, follow up within the originally agreed scope and do not dismantle the unit to investigate on your own.

When booking, provide usage history, the model and any existing issues, and first confirm whether the filter, internal unit, outdoor unit and drainage work are included; fault repairs should be confirmed separately.
