AC TIPS & ADVICE

If the AC louver will not close or the fan blades are damaged: do not force it by hand

Contents

The outlet louver mainly changes the airflow direction, while the blower wheel or fan blades inside the unit push the air. The handling of damage to each is different; the louver not fully closing is not enough to prove a motor or control board fault.

First check whether the model has a drying or air-blow function

After cooling is turned off, some models continue with internal drying or fan operation, and the louver position may be different from a complete shutdown. Check your own model’s manual first and do not assume every open louver position is damage.

Check whether the remote control has cancelled the swing function or whether other functions are still operating. Do not enter the engineering menu, repeatedly cut the power, or force the louvres to reset them.

A jammed air guide plate and a broken blower wheel must be dealt with separately

Linkages of the air flap, drive parts, dirt buildup or foreign objects may affect opening and closing; a damaged blower wheel may cause imbalance, noise or abnormal airflow. The actual parts must be confirmed by inspection.

Even if you can see foreign objects, do not reach in with power on or insert tools into the air outlet. Do not use glue to fix fan blades, trim the blades, or buy similar-looking parts and install them yourself.

Stop using the unit if there is impact, rubbing or loose parts

If there is a noticeable banging sound, rubbing, falling debris, strong vibration, a burning smell, or a tripped breaker, stop using the equipment. Do not hold up the air flap by hand or keep it running to see whether it improves on its own.

Take photos of the appearance, warning light and any fallen parts from a safe position, and note whether the issue appeared after cleaning, happened suddenly, or gradually worsened. Do not switch the unit on again just to record video.

Inspection, replacement parts and pricing

First check the model and parts supply, then confirm whether cleaning is enough or whether repair and replacement are needed. This article does not provide a universal fan blade replacement price for all models, and it does not follow a fixed fee from an old article.

If the original warranty is still valid, first confirm the terms with the agent; the scope and cost of third-party repairs should be confirmed separately, and the original or installation warranty should not be assumed to cover all repairs.

Original manufacturer functions and operation apply only to the corresponding model; please refer to your own unit's manual. For fixed electrical installations, inspection should be arranged by a registered electrical contractor.
