Can icing be fixed by cleaning the unit? Separate cleaning from repair
Contents
If icing appears during cooling operation, stop using the unit and arrange an inspection; do not assume cleaning alone will solve it just because dust is visible. Cleaning addresses dirt within the confirmed scope; issues such as the fan, sensor control, installation or the refrigerant system must be identified separately.
When should cleaning be considered?
Only when our staff confirm that dirt buildup or restricted airflow is related to the issue will cleaning be arranged according to the model and the actual components. Filters, indoor parts and outdoor areas are checked separately; cleaning does not mean every component has been inspected, repaired, or restored to new-unit performance.
Which work is not part of a standard AC cleaning?
Parts damage, refrigerant system issues or other faults will be quoted separately based on the inspection result. Refrigerant is not a fuel that must be topped up every year; frosting alone does not mean it is underfilled or overfilled, and you should never measure pressure, add refrigerant, release refrigerant or disconnect pipes yourself.
Residents should not thaw the unit themselves for testing.
Record the iced area, mode, time and whether there is any other dripping or unusual noise from a safe position. Do not scrape the ice, pour hot water, blow hot air or reach inside the unit, and do not repeatedly switch it on to check whether it recovers by itself. If water has entered the unit or there is any electrical abnormality, seek help first.
If it still freezes after cleaning, how should it be followed up?
Keep the cleaning scope and records of any original faults, and if new issues appear, stop using the unit and notify the service provider. Do not spray cleaner again yourself or ask for refrigerant only; reconfirm the cause and the applicable follow-up terms. One cleaning does not guarantee no icing forever.
