How to inspect after AC cleaning: airflow, drainage, and follow-up checks

Contents

After cleaning, do not judge only by whether the casing looks clean. Based on the confirmed scope, check operation, airflow and drainage with the technician. Also remember that cleaning is not the same as a full refurbishment, and one test run cannot guarantee that all hidden faults are absent.

First compare with the agreed cleaning scope

Check the units and quantity actually handled, as well as any additional items confirmed in advance. Indoor unit cleaning, outdoor condenser treatment, clearing blockages and repairs are different tasks; do not assume parts not included in the quotation have definitely been cleaned.

You may ask the service staff to explain the cleaning and testing results, and keep the booking and fee records. Visible dirt improvement is one point to observe, but stains, ageing and corrosion cannot always be restored by cleaning, and appearance alone cannot be used to infer refrigerant or circuit conditions.

Check whether the airflow and operation are normal during testing

In the appropriate mode, check whether it operates according to the remote-control settings, whether there is any obvious obstruction to airflow, and whether any new abnormal noise has appeared. Do not treat the short-term feel of air from the vent as a complete test of cooling capacity.

Room temperature, sunlight, settings and on-site usage all affect how it feels. If it was already not cold enough before cleaning, explain whether the problem has improved; if not, it does not necessarily mean another cleaning will fix it, and a fault inspection may also be needed.

Watch for indoor dripping, but do not open it yourself to look for the source

Observe from a safe position whether there is any unusual dripping on the unit, wall or nearby floor, and confirm whether the original problem is still occurring. A brief test run may not cover all time periods, and any later abnormality still needs to be recorded and reported to the service provider.

If water is near electrical parts or a socket, accompanied by a burning smell, tripping, or ice, stop using it first. Do not keep it running just to film it, and do not knock off the ice yourself, insert tools into the drain, or remove panels to look for the cause.

  • Unusual location and time of start
  • Current mode, how long it has been running, and whether there are other symptoms
  • Panoramic photos and short videos taken from a safe position
  • Corresponding booking and service records

If there is a follow-up issue, how should maintenance be understood?

Our cleaning service includes a 90-day warranty covering problems caused by the cleaning service. Whether dripping or leakage is covered, and how it should be handled, still depends on verifying the cause and the terms confirmed at booking; not all later faults are repaired free of charge.

When reporting a problem, first provide the booking details, when it happened and the symptoms, then arrange suitable follow-up. Do not dismantle or repair it yourself and then use photos to determine liability; existing wear, installation issues or other faults should be separated based on the actual inspection result.

Common questions

If it is still not cold enough after cleaning, does it definitely need cleaning again?

Not necessarily. Settings, heat dissipation, refrigerant or mechanical issues may all affect cooling performance. Please provide the condition before and after cleaning so that a suitable inspection can be arranged, rather than repeatedly cleaning as a substitute for repair.

If it starts dripping within 90 days, is it definitely fixed for free?

No guarantee can be made in general. Maintenance covers problems caused by the cleaning service, and the cause and the terms confirmed at booking must be verified. Stop using it first and contact customer service with the relevant information.

Reference sources and applicable scope

This article provides a preliminary guide only and does not replace an on-site diagnosis. Original manufacturer functions and operation apply only to the corresponding model; please refer to your own unit's manual. For fixed electrical installations, inspection should be arranged by a registered electrical contractor.
