If a senior feels the AC is too cold: adjust airflow direction, settings and equipment condition separately
Contents
If an elderly family member feels the air conditioner is too cold, first listen to their feelings and adjust the environment; do not directly assume it is due to dust buildup in the air duct or a faulty part. Seating position, airflow direction, settings, model controls and personal comfort should all be considered separately; cleaning cannot guarantee even temperature in every corner, and it does not change an individual's tolerance to cold.
First avoid continuous direct airflow.
Operate the airflow vanes and fan speed according to the manual, and check whether the resting position is directly facing the air outlet. Do not put your hand into the vent to move parts. Avoid blocking the air inlets or outlets to block the draft, and do not add unverified parts yourself.
Room temperature recommendations are not a care prescription
The EMSD summer energy-saving recommendation is 24 to 26 degrees, but that does not mean the same setting suits every elderly person at all times. Adjust according to the actual temperature and comfort level; if feeling cold is accompanied by physical discomfort, consult medical professionals and do not use equipment maintenance as a substitute for health assessment.
When should I check the filter and the unit condition?
Abnormal airflow, odour, water leakage, or noise should be recorded and checked according to the symptoms. You cannot infer thick internal dirt just because you are afraid it is not cold enough. Only maintain parts allowed by the manufacturer; separate internal cleaning from fault repairs.
Follow up based on actual usage and equipment inspection
After adjustment, observe the direct airflow and how it feels in different parts of the room, then confirm whether there is still any equipment abnormality. Cleaning is for confirming the scope and operation acceptance; it does not promise to restore blade curvature, remove all airflow resistance, or necessarily solve a fear of cold air.
