Headache after waking up and the AC duct: without testing, bacteria cannot be said to exceed limits

Contents

Headache or low energy after waking up does not mean there are excessive bacteria in the AC duct. Without sampling, measurement and applicable standards, the amount cannot be determined, and symptoms cannot be attributed to contamination inside the unit. If discomfort persists or is obvious, seek medical advice; do not use whether symptoms improve after cleaning as a diagnosis.

Measurements and applicable scope for above-standard cases

The EPD’s indoor air quality certification guidelines specify applicable premises, parameters, and measurement conditions. Certification indicators cannot be directly treated as the bacterial limit inside each household AC unit. Photos, black spots, and smells are not laboratory results.

What dirt buildup and moisture can show

Air conditioner parts may have dust and moisture buildup and should be maintained according to the actual condition. You cannot assume that the inside is already heavily contaminated, that bacteria have multiplied rapidly, or that disease-causing dust mites are present just because the unit has not been cleaned for a while. Record any unusual symptoms first, so staff can assess whether cleaning, repairs, or other investigation is needed.

Cleaning does not include any promise of sleep benefits

Cleaning removes dirt from the parts that can be handled within the agreed scope. It does not make the air sterile, and it does not prove the cause of headaches has been eliminated. There is no basis to promise that cleaning will immediately improve sleep, boost immunity or restore energy in the morning; health follow-up and equipment acceptance should be handled separately.

Equipment acceptance should be based on checkable items

Check with the service provider that the parts have been restored, as well as airflow, operation, drainage and site tidying, and keep the original fault record. Not every weak airflow, odour or noise is caused only by dirt, and there is no absolute cleaning guarantee that will avoid damage to every ageing part.

When should I contact which type of help?

If your body has recurring discomfort, first explain it to medical staff; if equipment is abnormal, provide the model and photos to the service provider, and separate cleaning from fault repair. If contamination needs to be measured, find the appropriate professional separately; a cleaning receipt or service photo cannot replace an environmental testing report.
