Cleaning scope for wall-mounted split AC: indoor unit, outdoor unit, and fault inspection are separate

Contents

For wall-mounted split ACs, cleaning the indoor unit, handling the outdoor unit, and fault inspection are separate scopes. Please confirm them separately when making an enquiry. This article explains service assessment and final checks, not how to dismantle the unit yourself; residents should not wash the outdoor unit, modify wiring, or open the refrigerant circuit.

The indoor unit and outdoor unit are not cleaned as the same scope.

A split AC indoor unit has parts such as a filter, evaporator and blower wheel; the outdoor unit involves the compressor, heat dissipation and wiring. What needs cleaning must be confirmed according to the model, dirt level and accessibility; do not assume indoor-unit cleaning includes outdoor-unit work.

Confirm the model, existing issue and site conditions before service

Pre-work safety and protection assessment

Service staff assess the power supply and scope of work

The service staff will confirm the shutdown, power supply, and protection arrangements according to the site and model. Residents do not need to open the casing or wiring box beforehand; if there is a tripped breaker, damp wiring, or a smell, stop using it first and explain the situation

Dust filter cleaning is different from deep cleaning inside the unit

The dust filter that can be removed and washed according to the manual is part of routine maintenance; whether the evaporator, fan wheel and drainage area should be cleaned, and whether dismantling is required, should be confirmed according to the model and work safety. Do not apply the same dismantling method to all models.

The outdoor unit is confirmed separately according to location and safety conditions

Whether the outdoor unit can be reached safely, and whether high-level work or other work is involved, must be assessed first. Residents should not remove the casing, lean out of the window, rinse it with a hose, or inspect the compressor and wiring themselves.

If work on the outdoor unit falls outside the original service scope, confirm any extra work and quotation first; do not assume it can be completed safely just because indoor cleaning has already been arranged.

If there is already water leakage, poor cooling or a tripped breaker, first identify the fault

Record existing abnormalities and tell customer service. If necessary, arrange a fault inspection first. A properly sealed refrigerant system does not need regular top-up, and replacing parts or handling refrigerant is not a fixed step in every cleaning service.

Completion check and test run

The service staff complete the restoration and test according to actual conditions, then confirm with the resident the completed scope, any abnormalities and follow-up items. Residents should not connect the indoor and outdoor unit power themselves or adjust screws.

Keep the quotation and service records. Cleaning can address the relevant dirt build-up, but it cannot guarantee a like-new result, fixed electricity savings, or that future repairs will be avoided.
