AC Booking Guide: Pre-Visit Preparation, Cleaning Scope and Completion Check

Contents

There is no need to buy tools or dismantle the unit yourself before booking AC cleaning. Prepare the model, number of units, installation location and any existing fault, clear away items under the unit that may be affected by water, then confirm the cleaning scope, working conditions and quotation with customer service.

AC cleaning guide | Why clean your air conditioner?

Dirt buildup may affect airflow and heat exchange, but odour, dripping water or poor cooling may also involve other faults. Cleaning removes dirt within scope, but does not guarantee the unit will be like new, that its life will be extended, or that every symptom will disappear.

Enquire about BeforeWhat information should I prepare?

Photograph the unit, model, items under the unit and installation location that can be safely reached, and provide the number of units, district and existing faults; do not remove the casing, move the unit or lean out of the window just to take photos.

Site preparation before a visit

Keep space under the unit clear and maintain a proper work path

Please first move clothes, small appliances and items that may be affected by water away from under the unit, and keep a clear path. Whether large furniture can be moved and how to protect it should be discussed with customer service first; do not dismantle the unit or pull on hoses yourself.

Explain the height, window-side position, fixed cabinets, or other obstacles so the staff can assess ladder equipment, access method, and protection. Residents do not need to cover electrical controls or dismantle parts in advance.

If the building has work hours or management arrangements, please state them before booking; during the work, keep children and pets in a safe place and away from the work area.

How should the cleaning scope and completed items be checked?

First confirm whether the filters, indoor fan wheel or heat exchanger, outdoor unit and drainage point are included; some items require separate assessment based on the model and site, and are not assumed to be fully included by the equipment name alone.

Any existing water leakage, poor cooling or tripping should be explained before work starts; if additional repairs or extra work are found, confirm the scope and cost first, and do not treat cleaning as fault repair.

At completion, check the completed and outstanding items with the service staff, and keep the service date and quotation record. Internal restoration and test running will be arranged by the service staff; residents should not dismantle the unit and inspect it again themselves.

AC cleaning guide | Frequency and recommendations

Filter maintenance should follow the model manual, usage and dirt buildup conditions. Internal cleaning should be assessed separately; there is no fixed rule that applies to all locations, such as cleaning every month, every three to six months, or once a year.

Preparing documents, tidying the site and confirming the service scope is usually more useful than buying cleaning tools first. Please distinguish cleaning and maintenance from fixing existing faults, and confirm in advance any special locations or extra work.
