First-time AC cleaning booking? Need, timing and service scope overview
Contents
For a first-time AC cleaning booking, first distinguish whether it is for removing dirt buildup or whether there is already a fault. Then prepare the model, quantity, location and details of any existing issues. The cleaning time is determined by actual usage and dirt buildup; service parts and extra works must be confirmed first, and the unit does not need to be dismantled in advance.
AC cleaning guide | Why do you need to clean your air conditioner?
Return air can carry dust into the filter and inside the unit, where dirt may gradually build up. Cleaning confirms the scope of dirt removal, but it does not mean all parts need to be taken apart, and it is not an air quality or health test.
Airflow and heat exchange: dirt may have an effect, but the improvement after cleaning depends on the equipment and other causes, and we do not promise that every unit will definitely become more energy-efficient.
Extend operating life: Dirt buildup may accelerate wear on AC components. Regular cleaning helps keep parts clean and maintain equipment operation.
Odour and the environment: internal cleaning is one follow-up direction, but cleaning cannot be used to diagnose illness or guarantee sterile air. If symptoms persist, consult healthcare professionals separately.
AC cleaning guide | When should you clean your air conditioner?
Arrange according to the manual, usage time, and dirt build-up, and do not always require at least once a year. Changes in airflow, odour, or water leakage can be recorded; if there is a safety issue or an existing fault, stop using it first and ask for an inspection, rather than waiting for a fixed cleaning date.
Air conditioner operating noise has become louder: this may be because dust and dirt have clogged the fan, causing abnormal noise during operation.
Poor cooling: it may involve settings, airflow or other faults; you cannot judge from the airflow alone that the condenser is dirty. Please provide when it started, how long it lasted and any fault alerts so we can route the case properly.
Odour and discomfort during use: record the smell and when it appears, but do not directly conclude that a specific germ is present inside the unit. Follow up on body symptoms and equipment inspection separately.
What do residents and service staff each handle?
For daily maintenance, residents should only handle filters that can be safely removed according to the manual; the inside of the unit, high outdoor areas and areas near electrical parts should be assessed by suitable staff. The scope and limits differ by model.
Before handling parts that users are allowed to remove and clean, switch off the unit and cut off the power according to the manual; turning off the switch does not mean wiring or fixing parts can be removed.
Whether the filter can be washed, what products to use and how to dry it should follow that model’s manual. Do not force open the casing, and do not spray chemicals into the back of the filter.
When a split unit is cooling, the indoor evaporator and outdoor condenser are different components; cleaning of both must follow the model and site arrangements. Residents should not brush or rinse the heat-exchange parts inside the unit themselves.
Only maintain the outer casing at safe, accessible positions according to the manual. Do not insert cloths, brushes or vacuum cleaners into the fan wheel or electrical control parts.
For dripping, drainage pipes and drip trays, let the service staff assess first. Do not remove pipes, flush with water or pour cleaning agents to try to clear them.
Internal restoration and test running will be arranged by the service staff. Residents may check the completed items and any follow-up issues, and should not remove or reinstall the condenser themselves.
Enquire about TimesPrepare the model, number of units, area, and safely photographable installation photos, and first confirm what is and is not included in the quotation; report any existing fault early, and do not treat cleaning as an automatic fix.
