Central AC cleaning requires professional equipment | OPOExpert Air Conditioning
Contents
Central air-conditioning is the main equipment for regulating the indoor air environment. As the main unit runs for long hours, the condenser, cooler and heat exchanger are prone to dirt and rust, which can clog the refrigerant pipes and reduce output. Regular cleaning of central air-conditioning can improve heat-exchange efficiency, reduce equipment load, prevent corrosion and help maintain service life.
Central air-conditioning cleaning means removing dust and old buildup from the central air-conditioning system to improve cooling efficiency. The cleaning scope includes ducts, fan coil units, main unit, water system, air handling unit, cooling tower and more. Before cleaning, the unit should undergo a full site survey and inspection to determine the suitable cleaning method.
Use different professional cleaning equipment for support
Central air-conditioning involves different equipment and systems. Ducts, fan coil units, cooling towers and main units are not the same cleaning item. Please first confirm the site equipment, maintenance access, actual components and quotation; do not treat robot cleaning, pipe flushing or water-system treatment as standard equipment and procedures included in every service. Special systems will be arranged according to the relevant professional requirements.
Two main types: physical cleaning and chemical cleaning
Central AC cleaning can generally be divided into physical cleaning and chemical cleaning. It is a method of cleaning an air conditioning system or its mechanical equipment using physical or mechanical means. Common physical and chemical cleaning methods include removing deposits or blockages in heat-exchanger pipes with specialised tools such as server sandblasting, rubber plugs, and soft brushes. For chemical cleaning, organic chemicals are mainly used to dissolve, loosen, or separate deposits inside the equipment. Common chemical water-treatment methods include acid pickling and passivation, chemical compound cleaning, and sterilising cleaning. Chemical water treatment is usually used to remove hard scale, bends, and deposits at contact points in machinery and equipment piping.
For physical cleaning, open the service-side bearing end cover and use a spray gun to sandblast the AC copper tubes one by one to remove microbial dirt and rust residue. Then clean the AC copper tubes with high-pressure water and remove all rust debris and scale from the water chamber and the inner side of the bearing end cover cavity. For chemical-water cleaning, add descaling agent in proportion, open the system software circulation system for about 8 hours, so that the dirt and stains in the system software disperse into the water and are discharged with the water. Then gradually add detergent into the circulation system and clean the circulation system for about 5 minutes. After that, neutralise and discharge the cleaning wastewater and flush the equipment until the pH value is neutralised.
Find professional help
Cleaning central air-conditioning equipment involves a complex process, so professional equipment is essential. Engaging a professional team helps ensure the correct tools and techniques are used to clean the system thoroughly and help maintain AC performance.
