Possible AC short circuit or tripping: stop using it, do not dry it and try again
Contents
A tripped breaker is just the action of a protective device and cannot by itself determine a short circuit. Overload, leakage, insulation or other equipment issues may require different inspections. Residents should not replace fuses, alter wiring or disable protection themselves.
Stop using the equipment at the first sign of danger
If there is a burning smell, smoke, sparks, repeated tripping, or wet electrical parts, stop using the equipment. Do not touch wet plugs, switches, or appliances; only deal with the power supply when it is safe and there is no need to approach a dangerous area.
In the event of a fire or immediate danger, move away and call 999 for help; do not wait for an online repair quotation. Do not pour water on live equipment.
Drying does not mean the fault has been cleared
Moisture, leftover dirt or damaged insulation may create hidden risks. Do not treat drying, a hair dryer or running the fan for a while as proof that the unit can be switched on again.
Do not keep switching the breaker back on to see whether the problem remains, and do not replace sockets, wiring, or increase breaker capacity yourself. Electrical installation work must be handled by suitably qualified persons.
Record the process from a safe position
Explain whether the issue occurred when turning on, while running, after cleaning, or after rain, and keep photos of the existing fault light and model. If other appliances are also affected, you may tell the inspector, but do not switch on more high-power appliances for testing.
Do not open the electrical box or casing to take photos inside, and do not use a test pen or multimeter to find the fault yourself. Observing and recording is not live troubleshooting.
First inspect, then decide on the work
The equipment body and the power supply line may be handled by different personnel. The quotation should specify the inspection results, repair scope, and whether other electrical work is needed. Cleaning must not be treated as a fix for all electrical faults.
Use again only after the relevant inspection, repair and confirmation are completed. Cleaning service and repair warranty are different; actual charges and responsibility will be handled according to the current terms and the confirmed quotation.

Reference sources and applicable scope
This article provides a preliminary guide only and does not replace an on-site diagnosis. Original manufacturer functions and operation apply only to the corresponding model; please refer to your own unit's manual. For fixed electrical installations, inspection should be arranged by a registered electrical contractor.
